What is Ex-Human?
Ex-Human is a blog novel developed in real time. It chronicles the life in the year 2021, a dystopic era sixteen years from now.
I have been working on this for a month now, adding entries every day as possible.
The story first centers around a sixteen year old boy (born jun 20th 2005, as the first entry indicates) who was born in an ultra-conservative community where it is common practice to implant RFID parental control chips to kids.
As time passes he will realize he lives in a much wider world than expected, he is contacted by a group that calls itself The Cult of the Dead Cow (unrelated to the actual organization) which has its own agenda for the newbie.
It is an orwellian dystopia where mass media is controlled by an ultraconservatist christian white minority, violence in TV has been obliterated and freedom of expression and the right to privacy are an illusion.
There are robots, flying cars, money is a thing of the past and hunger has been abolished thanks to the ultra-nutritious Slurry. Every sickness is cured by Teratonin, the Miracle drug.
But this brighter future has a grim side. Robots and Flyng cars are commodities for the rich and powerful only, third world countries prefer starving than eating Slurry and Teratonin has unpredictable and deadly side effects. and the poor who don't have a bank account are non-persons.
Every dystopia is a reality, every utopia is fullfilled. This is our future. This is the world of Ex-Human.
